Bienvenido Empresarios, the premier binational North American business coalition, today marks the sixth anniversary of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement entering into force a milestone that reflects years of cooperation, economic growth, and strengthened ties between the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Six years ago, President Trump delivered on his promise to replace NAFTA with a stronger, fairer agreement that put American workers, American businesses, and American interests first.
Bienvenido Empresarios was proud to support that vision. USMCA created a framework for North American trade that elevated labor standards, strengthened intellectual property protections, and enshrined rules that gave businesses on both sides of the border the confidence to invest, grow, and create jobs. That work mattered and it still does.

Today, we equally support the Trump administration's decision to decline renewal of USMCA in its current form. This is not a step backward it is a step forward. Six years of implementation have
revealed where the agreement is working and where it falls short. Addressing those shortcomings, closing loopholes that allow unfair competition to enter the North American market, and ensuring
that trade flows serve American workers and North American manufacturers is not a retreat from fair trade. It is a fulfillment of it.

We believe deeply that the private sector must have a seat at the table as these negotiations unfold and we are confident that the Trump administration shares that conviction. Strong trade policy is not
made in isolation from the businesses that live under it. It is shaped by them. The voices of the men and women who run companies, employ workers, and move goods are not a distraction from the negotiating process. They are essential to it. We applaud an administration that understands this and that has chosen to pursue amended terms rather than accept the status quo.
Bienvenido Empresarios has spent years building the relationships, the coalitions, and the bilateral trust that make meaningful private-sector engagement in this process possible. We stand ready to
serve as a bridge between business and government, between the United States and its neighbors as the next chapter of North American trade is written. The work ahead is significant. The stakes are
real. And the opportunity to get this right, for workers and businesses across our region, is one we intend to help seize.

"USMCA was a historic achievement and today's decision to strengthen it is a continuation of that same bold vision. We support the administration's commitment to pursuing a deal that is not just free but fair. Bienvenido Empresarios is proud to stand with American businesses and workers as this moment unfolds and to be a voice that helps shape what comes next."
